If you have ever wanted to try screen-printing, but don’t know where to begin, why not attend a workshop at the Art Gallery of Ontario this summer? The AGO is hosting a series of 4 week-long screen-printing workshops where participants will learn about different screen-printing techniques, like creating multi-layer prints, mixing inks, and making gradients on a single layer, which is called a split fountain blend. Screen-printing is a very physical, but rewarding process of printing, in which you essentially push inks through stencils on a stretched silk screen. It is a versatile medium that can be applied to any surface. The workshop fee includes the cost of inks. Students are encouraged to bring extra paper, t-shirts, bags, and other materials they would like to print on.
