Portfolios hold several bodies of artwork developed over time.
The title is a descriptor of the work. Sometimes the work was all done in one go and others are a series that I have come back to.
artists religion – 1995-now
In response to cryptic icon worship I have made my own “holy windows” depicting an artist’s religion of objects, emblems and saints. See also: Fragile and unframed collages
earth’s harmony-rocks and graphs series – 2014-19
There is a direct correlation between the graphs we use to portray wealth, weather patterns, minerals, micro views of caffeine and macro views of the earth.
eyeparts/parts of i – 1997-2000
This work explores the beauty & depth of the human eye through close observation of only a part of the models iris.
labradorite – 2020
This series is riffing off the mineral Labradorite, which is a lovely stone with iridescent qualities & huge depth within its striations.
landsats and other planets, mainly the moon – 1999-now
This series is based on the moon, and the earth seen from outer space (using satellite false colour technology)

Inspired by detritus on my bike route to and from the AGO and the Turner show at the AGO in 2015.
made from television – 2020
The imagery in West World was an opportunity to use ideas from television as a jumping off point for a series of drawings and later painting.
meadow meditations – 2023-now
Grass is a metaphor for Humans, for music, for movement, for life. Can we navigate through the Grass, find our fellow groups & thrive?
sacred dot painting – 2016-now
Utilizing the tools of the Australian Aboriginals this is a meditative practise as much as an art form.

The unlikely spoon collection is testament to being of the Haves. If it never gets used, then why not make it out of very unlikely materials, hair, nails, volcanoes, toxic waste?

Using a model, posed to photograph, altering the contrast and then used for human contour has a striking resemblance to the land in an abstracted form.
