A collage is an assemblage that is flat.
I work from the first surface
Usually hand made paper
To the last
usually a stamp or sequin or painted gold leaf
Methodically
Placing
Rearranging
Pondering
many of my collages take years to ponder
waiting for the perfect tidbit to come along
from books
or magazines
or the street
then applying
some more arranging
then glues & mediums are applied
Sometimes drawing
or painting
sewing on embellishments
stamps usually happen last
