printmaking is in nature all about process
images are chosen
drawn out in all their colour possibilities
a medium to print from is chosen,
relief usually , silkscreen , etching, mono & colligraph are sometimes visitors
carving, cutting & plate preparation is next
paper sizes, colours & textures are prepared
print set up for optimum space use is created
the ritual is established early so no mistakes are made
more clothes pins are usually needed
the process begins with first layer
usually the lightest or furthest back colours first
and gets repeated anywhere from two to six times until complete
tangents are established along the way
with some layers omitted
sometimes the process is so exciting the complete series is far more than anticipated
with many one off experiments
