Lauren is able to have students learn one on one in her studio. She has been teaching for over 35 years and is well versed in the needs for the youngest beginner to the more advanced mature student looking to build on existing skills. She has extensive knowledge of portfolio needs for high school , college or
university level with regards to fine art, and design focused course (architecture , costume or fashion , graphic, industrial, interior, or set design). She will supply most materials required for each lesson.
You work at your own pace & receive specific targeted information to help you further your own art development.
Expertise in :
drawing -dry & wet media, chalk, charcoal, coloured pencil , conte, graphite, pen & ink, oil pastel
collage -chincolle techniques, scissors & exacto knife techniques, paper making
colour theory– in gouache , watercolour or acrylic
digital art– ipad use of Art Rage program
painting – acrylic , gouache, oil, or watercolour, colour theory exercises, composition & technique
printmaking – relief in linoleum, softoleum, styrofoam, plasticene, plaster, wood, silkscreen, intaglio- drypoint on plexiglass or mono printing
portfolio building -for high school, college or university, in fine art, or design based courses, (includes fashion, illustration, interior, industrial, theatre set design, & graphic design) can look at existing work and help you create what is missing for a complete portfolio.
sculpture –altered books, assemblage, clay hand building busts, relief or casting, or carving in plaster or soap stone , or plywood wood relief using hand tools and drummels
surfaces: -canson pastel paper , cartridge, BFK, mylar, acetate ,yupo paper, canvas paper , canvas board, stretched canvas, masonite, plexiglass, & plywood
Fee:$50 per hour plus HST. Bookings are a 2 hour minimum, for $113 (this includes HST, tea , instruction, & most materials )
Availability: When classes are in session at the AGO & other schools I teach at, availability will be based around non class times.Generally Lauren is available tuesday, thursday and friday afternoons for fall, winter and spring. Suggest a time to best fit your schedule.
